Wow! What an epic year. With so many memorable events, what better way to recall some our favorites than with a list of the TOP 10 moments of the year. Read along below!
#10 - France Leaving
Who knew a country could just leave? Where did they all go? No one has a clue, but we can all agree on one thing: it was a top 10 moment of 2022!
#09 - Raytheon Sponsors the Puppy Bowl
The year started off with a bang when one of the world’s largest defense contractors, Raytheon Industries, sponsored the 2022 Puppy Bowl in a striking PR move. The plan backfired when eight air-to-air Peregrine Missiles were accidentally fired at a consumer-grade drone flying over the taping, killing more than 25 puppies and injuring 11 people. Yikes!
#08 - The Skirt
Where were you when the Skirt absolutely broke the internet? We know where we were: freakin’ glued to our devices. In this totally epic moment, we learned what lies beyond the veil of reality. As the President of the USA himself said, “I don’t.” That’s enough for #8 on the year’s top moments for us!
#07 - The Hierarchy of Power in the DC Universe Changing
“Whoa!” I think we all felt it when this happened, and to be honest…. we’re still not over it. The release of “Black Adam” starring the one and only Dwanye “The Rock” Johnson is sure to send ripples across the DCEU— and cinema itself— for years to come.
#06 - humpo VS OBGYNickSnipa
Crestfallen BlastDrop streamer Shumpo had some choice words for Team KaSway’s star player OBGYNickSnipa after a disappointing performance, but the 2 chose to settle their differences in the most 2022 way possible: shooting at one another inside of decommissioned M4 Sherman tanks on the grounds of the ViewsHouse. #05 - Driving Miss Baby…?!
The controversial “Freedom For Infants” law allowed babies between the age of 12 and 24 months to get behind the wheel. While long-term data is still being collected, one thing is for sure: baby on board, indeed!
#04 - You Did Everything You Could
And it still wasn’t enough.
#03 - “Of Mice and Men” Reboot"
While the act of “rebooting” will always have it’s critics, many felt the phenomenon went too far when author S.L. Hennessy, known for their chain-restaurant themed erotica, altered Steinbeck’s heartbreaking ending by choosing to have George and Lennie take their critics to SUBWAY and share a footlong sweet onion teriyaki in a turn from the original which featured George shooting Lennie in the head. Can’t win ‘em all!
#02 - Dogs Learning to Run on Two Legs
Uh-oh, Fido isn’t four-legged anymore! While scientists are still baffled as to how exactly the anomaly began— and subsequently spread across the planet— we’ll be “howling” with laughter at these pooches as they chase cars like a T-1000. Aroooo!
#01 - Netflix’s You CAM Do It!
What started off as the streaming giant’s foray into completely live, randomized, user-generated content took a dark turn when the initial batch of over 40,000 hours of footage streamed to accounts across the world contained over 400 armed robberies, 37 murders, 100 acts of arson, and included the infamous Los Altos terrorist attacks. The initial stream was pulled after 48 hours but culminated in the series shattering most-watched records universally, with over 850,000,000 hours viewed. Season 2 of You CAM Do It! Premiers February 11th on Netflix.
